Dental Assistant

Seeking three (3) full-time Dental Assistants. The Dental Assistant is responsible for chair side assisting dentists in all aspects of patient care, including but not limited to digital radiographs, updating electronic patient records, sterilization, and coordinating continuing care with front desk staff. Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must have 3 years of previous experience as dental assistant. Pediatric dental experience preferred for one location. Director of Adult and Family Medicine

The Director of Adult and Family Medicine is the chief medical officer charged with providing leadership for planning and oversight of adult and family medicine medical protocols, procedures, and programs. The Director of Adult and Family Medicine is responsible for recommending and implementing clinical policies and procedures; supervising provider staff; insuring performance improvement activities in all clinical activities; and acting as an integral part of the management team of the health center.

Patient Engagement Specialist

The Patient Engagement Specialist serves as a vital link between Johnson Health Center and the local community. The PES works in collaboration with the Director of Patient Engagement and Outreach to provide education and assistance for JHC patients as well as the general community regarding the health insurance marketplace and Medicaid/FAMIS/CHIP. The PES is responsible for educating the community, assisting with enrollment, and helping to build and retain JHC patient capacity. The PES is an integral part of JHC’s patient-centered health care home by addressing patient need for adequate, affordable health insurance as well as engaging patient in their health care.

Behavioral Health Lead Nurse

The Lead Nurse manages the area he/she is assigned to provide professional, team based medical care and nursing support in a clinical setting. Under direct supervision of the Director of Nursing, the nursing staff plays a critical role in the delivery of quality, patient- centered medical care within the context of a federally (HRSA) qualified community health center (FQHC). The Lead Nurse oversees his/her nursing team with the goal of providing optimal patient care. He/she is a mentor, resource, and example to all staff in the assigned work area.

Individual will function in conjunction with a medical provider, to assist in the provision of professional medical care and nursing support clinical duties in a clinical setting. The nursing staff plays a critical role in the delivery of quality medical care. The LPN is required to have graduated from an accredited Licensed Practical nursing program and be licensed with the Virginia State Board of Nursing with a current LPN license. 1-3 years’ experience in an outpatient clinical setting is preferred. Pediatric Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant assists the Dental Director and Dental Hygienist in the care and treatment of patients, filing patient charts, updating records, and performing administrative functions to assist the Patient Assistance Specialist. Behavioral Health Therapist (LCSW or LPC)

The Behavioral Health Therapist provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, development and implementation of behavioral health treatment plan for JHC patients as referred by JHC medical providers. The behavioral health therapist provides counseling, crisis intervention, various case management services and referral services and works with JHC medical providers to ensure care management of the patient. Position is eligible for student loan repayment through the NHSC. Master’s degree in Social Work with LCSW or LPC, and at least two years of experience required.

Patient Assistance Specialist

Position will work at the front desk, and be responsible for greeting and checking in/out patients, verifying all demographic information and insurance. Successful candidate will work closely with nursing staff and providers to assure patient process flow is optimized. Individual will also answer phones, make appointments and handle customer relations in a positive, professional manner. Successful candidate will have a HS diploma or equivalent, Medical Assistant Certification desired, 2-5 years customer service skills preferably working in a medical office, working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook),proven ability to work within a team setting, excellent customer service skills with ability to handle all types of customers. Staff Dentist

The Dentist provides leadership in all areas relating to the dental services at Johnson Health Center’s (JHC). Responsible for recommending and implementing dental policies and procedures; providing dental services and education to the patients of JHC; ensuring continuous quality improvement in dental services; representing JHC at organizations concerned with dentistry services to the underserved; and act as an integral part of the clinical and administrative management team of the health center.
