Jake joined JHC’s Behavioral Health Team in August 2020 and is our newest Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Jake earned his Bachelor’s degree from Lynchburg College, now the University of Lynchburg, before completing his Master’s degree at Walden University. Prior to joining JHC, he managed an inpatient psychiatric unit for over 5 years. Jake was awarded the Mental Health Leader of the Year in 2019 and was also named a Top 40 under 40 Nurse Leader by the Virginia Nurse’s Association. He was born and raised in Amherst County and is looking forward to serving his hometown and surrounding areas. In his spare time, Jake enjoys spending time with his wife of 10 years and their two children. His family also includes four cats and two dogs! Jake enjoys working on cars, building things, lifting weights, music, movies and video games.
